Oxfordshire Home-Ed Camp

  • The camp is an opportunity for HE families to spend time together, workshops of all kinds will run all week, we will relax, chat, create, play & much more. Detailed information of the weeks activities will be created & shared soon. Everything will be optional.

The Location

  • OHEC is located at Watlington Hill Farm Sanctuary, Oxfordshire, OX49 5HS
  • Watlington Town is just down the hill, it has a lovely selection of shops including a Co-Op, SO Sustainable Watlington , The Granary Cafe, The Orange Bakery, Spire & Spoke , Mercy In Action Boutique Charity Shop Watlington , Sprocket Science Bicycle Servicing and more!
  • Christmas Common has its own lovely country pub, less than a 5mins walk – The Fox and Hounds at Christmas Common

Camping

  • Do I need to bring a tent or camping unit? Yes – you will need your own camping equipment.
  • Are campervans and caravans welcome? Yes – we have space for these vehicles.
  • Can I park my car next to my unit? Yes – there is plenty of space to park adjacent to your tent, caravan, etc.
  • Are electrical hook-ups available? No – the camping field is normally used for animal grazing.
  • Can I drive off-site during the week? – Yes, you don’t have to camp and are welcome to come & go as you please. You will remain responsible for your children at all times.
  • Are there cooking facilities on-site? No – please bring your own camping stoves.
  • Are there fridges available on-site? – Yes, a small number of fridge freezers for sharing & freezing ice packs on site.
  • Does the site have showers? – Yes – we have hired in luxury showers for the event!
  • Does the site have toilets? Yes – we have portaloos located all around the camping field and community village.
  • Is there an accessible toilet? Yes – the accessible toilet will be located near the community village
  • Can I bring a dog? – Yes. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome if you think the dog will enjoy it only please. There are lots of lovely walks in the area for off lead walks, but on the camp site dogs must be on leads, sociable and cleaned up after. Please consider your dogs needs, we are a farm sanctuary site and the cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, mules, goats & pigs need to continue to feel safe.
